Favorite Amazon Finds: glass bottles

“Never mix ammonia and bleach, it could kill you.” I was eight years when my mom nonchalantly warned me about this poisonous cocktail. We were standing in the foyer of a home my aunt was renting, helping her clean before the big move in. I have a vivid memory of wondering WHY in the world there was a bucket full of cleaning supplies that, if mixed together, could kill me? And my mom and aunt incredibly casual about it? Can I just vacuum then? Little did I know, cleaners can kill (slow, legal death by chemicals in long term or short term exposure) whether they are improperly mixed of not.
I, like many women, started researching household chemicals when I was pregnant with my first baby. I used the overpriced, under-performing “green” cleaning solutions found at my local health food store for many years. I did not like them, they barely worked, but I tried to do better for my children’s sake.
Speaking of mom, it was that same mom (I only had one, just to clarify) who turned me on to the Young Living’s Thieves Household Cleaner. Picking up the bottle of Thieves Cleaner at her house one day, I noted how small it was. “You only use about two cap fulls to a bottle of water though”, mom replied. “Well, if it works on glass I am sold.” I was already “sold” about the rest of the YL products, I don’t know why I was so skeptical of this one before testing it.
To my surprise I WAS sold. The Thieves Household Cleaner was on my next Young Living oder, and lasted me 6 months! We have used it in our home, cars, patios, golf carts, garages, chicken coops, churches, homeschool groups…you name it, for over 11 years now! I will never look back at the “green washed”, over priced products on the shelf at the store!
Sometimes I receive a free glass bottle from Young Living with a holiday special or Free Gift With Purchase (they give freebies with the Loyalty Rewards Program), but I am always on the lookout for other cute glass bottles. Because we use this cleaning solution on EVERYTHING, a bottle is always out on the counter. Naturally, it needs to match my aesthetic! Check out these beauties!
